序数词的用法与练习
序数词的用法
中考对序数词的考查主要集中在:
1. 几个特殊序数词的拼写形式。
2. 分数式的表达。
3. 序数词的具体用法。
4. 中考中主要以单项选择题和词汇运用题等形式出现，分值约为1-2分。
一、知识精讲
表示事物顺序的数词称为序数词。
(一)序数词的构成:
1. 第1, 2, 3是独立的特殊形式，即one— first; two— cond; three—
third 2. 从第4到第19的序数词，多数是在相应的基数词的词尾加-th，第5、
第8、第9、第12较特殊:
即four—fourth; five—fifth; six—sixth; ven—venth; eight—
eighth; nine—ninth; ten—tenth; eleven—eleventh; twelve —
twelfth;…nineteen—nineteenth 3. 20到90这些整十的数词，其相应的基数词
都是以-ty结尾，序数词一般是把基数词词尾的y变成i，再加-eth。即:
twenty— twentieth; thirty—thirtieth; forty—fortieth ; fifty—
fiftieth; sixty— sixtieth
venty—ventieth; eighty— eightieth; ninety—ninetieth 4. 表示第
几十几时，用几十的基数词形式加上连字符“,”和个位序数词形式一起表示。即:
thirty-first 第三十一 ; fifty-sixth 第五十六 ; venty-third 第七十
三 ; ninety-ninth

5. 第一百以上的多位序数词，变结尾部分为序数词形式来表示。即:
one hundred and twenty-first 第一百二十一;
one thousand，three hundred and twentieth 第一千三百二十
6. 序数词的缩写形式
有时，序数词可以用缩写形式来表示。如:
first—lst; cond—2nd; third—3rd; fourth—4th; sixth—6th;
twentieth—20th; twenty-third—23rd;
其中lst，2nd，3rd为特殊形式，其他的一般是在阿拉伯数字后加上-th，但
是像21-23,31-33…91-93等与1st, 2nd,3rd相关的序数词仍然要加st, nd,
rd。
巧记基数词变为序数词:
一、二、三个别记，结尾字母t, d, d;
八减t，九去e，十二和五f替ve;
整十y要变i，结尾再加-eth;
遇到几十几，只变个位就可以。
(二) 序数词的用法:
1. 序数词前要加定冠词the, 通常放在名词前面作定语。
【例句】
The cond lesson is more difficult than the first. 第2课比第1课要
难。 2. 给东西或各种物体编号时, 序号在前时用序数词, 序号在后时用基数词。
the fifth lesson = Lesson Five 第五课;
但是，在许多情况下，用基数词比用序数词更合适、更方便。

3. 日期的表示法
?先月后日，日子要读成序数词
May 5/ May 5th(5月5日)May (the) fifth，
?先日后月，在月份前加of
March 8th(3月8日)the eighth of March
?年月日同时出现，把年放在最后，年前用逗号隔开。
October 1st 1949 (1949年10月1日)October the first, 1949 或:the
first of October, 1949
注:写日期时，序数词前可省略the，读日期时，一定要加上the。 状元典例1

思路分析:在表示具体的日期时，用介词on，排除B，C两项;D项表示为先
年，后日月，错误，因为英语中表达日期时，年放在最后。A项是先月后日，再
年，正确。句意为“这个男孩是在1997年8月12日搬到这儿来的”。
4. 分数式的表达
分子用基数词，分母用序数词。当分子大于1时，分母要用复数形式。
1/3 表示为:one/a third;3/8表示为:three eighths 1/2 表示为:a/one half
1/4表示为:a/one quarter

思路分析:本题考查分数的表达。分子用基数词，分母用序数词，故排除A，B

(三) 序数词在句中所作的成分
序数词在句中可作主语、宾语、表语、定语。
【例句】
The cond is what I really need. 第二个是我真正需要的。(作主语)
She cho the cond. 她挑选了第二个。(作宾语)
We are to carry out the first plan. 我们将执行第一个计划。(作定语)
She is the cond in our class.在我们班她是第二名。(作表语)
二、难点聚焦
1. 序数词前出现不定冠词a或an时，表示“再一”，“又一”。
【例句】
Try it a cond time. 请再试一次。
I want to read the book a third time. 这本书我想再读一遍(第三遍)。

思路分析:当表示顺序时，序数词前加定冠词the;但只表示“再一;又一”时，

2. 当“分数词”用到较小的序数词时，可用不定冠词代替基数词one。

5. 序数词用作副词时通常其前也不用冠词。

6. 有些习语中的序数词前没有冠词。

7. 序数词用以表示日期时，其前的定冠词可省略。

1. 熟记序数词的几个特殊拼写形式:
one— first; two— cond; three— third; five—fifth; eight—eighth;
nine—ninth; twelve — twelfth
2. 掌握分数的表达法:
子基母序，分子大于1，分母用复数。
3. 分清序数词的不同用法:
可表示编号、日期;
可与the连用，也可与a/an连用;
有时可有the，有时the可省略，
有时the则必须去掉。
