属格

名属格和of-词组在意义和用法上有许多相通之处，比如of－词组也可表示所有关系：

the鲍鱼粥怎么做好吃又简单方便 trunkofanelephant=anelephant'strunk

theforeignpolicyofChina=China'sforeignpolicy

1、表示主谓关系

thearrivaloftheprimeminister(相当于theprimeministerarrived)

theclaimofthebuyers(相当于thebuyersclaimed)

2、表示动宾关系

theoccupationoftheIsland(相当于occupiedtheIsland)

ourhatredof(for,agai电饭煲腊味饭 nst)食品安全法实施 theenemy(相当于wehatetheenemy)

3、表示起源

thecomediesofMoliere(相当于thecomedieswrittenbyMoliere)

thelawsofNewton(相当于thela不断近义词 wsdiscoveredbyNewton)

但是，of-词组在用法上又不能和名词属格完全等同起来，比如当名词

属格用来表示事物类别或属性时，就不可用of-词组来替代："儿童画报"应

该是children'spictorial,而不是*pictorialofchildren;"男式服装"应是men's

clothing而不是*clothingofmen;"博士晚清历史 中括号怎么打 学位"应是adoctor'sdegree而不是*a

degreeofdoctor.在某些习语中如atone'swit'nd,atthesword'spoints,a

hair'sbreadth,awolfinsheep'sclothing,inlife'sstruggle,inone'smind'ye,to

one'sheart'scontent等也只能用名词属格而不用of-词组。但在教师获奖感言 有些结构中

却又只能用of-词组而不用名词属格，例如theopiniono角化型脚气 fthechairman

appo虐心言情小说 intedamonthago,thesu数学创意画 ggestionofthoprentatthemeeting,the

incomeoftherich,thestruggleoftheexploited等。

又of-词组能表示同位关系，如thecityofRome(罗马城)，而名词属格通常不这样用。
