Challenge yourlf !

As we all know, life is full of challenges. Challenge to get

into a good school, good college, good job, good position,

everything. Some of them are long term, and are generally

resolved as time pass. Some of them are short term, and

need immediate attention, for example, to finish a very

important assignment at school, or to get a job after

graduation. Short term challenges create a n of tension in

us, and when they are achieved, we feel happy. They also keep

us busy and minds occupied until they are resolved.

However, what happens when there are no challenges?

There is no tension, the mind gets free. Then we start thinking

about doing new things we like in this free time. We go on

vacation, eat good food, watch favorite movies, go partying

with friends. However, there is still a n of boredom. When

you tell this to other people who are fighting with problems,

they laugh on you. There are no problems in our life, which

starts becoming a problem. There is nothing to look forward

to, no big mountain to climb. Life becomes predictable. We

cannot figure out how to get the zing back in life (and creating

problems is not the answer).

One solution is to create challenges for yourlf, doing

things that you always thought to be difficult or impossible to

do. For example, playing a musical instrument, writing a poem,

training for marathon, learning a new sport, or simply

watching all the movies involving Woody Allen. The things

may not be real challenges, but they surely brings hapiness

back to the life when they are achieved. So whenever you think

you are bored, take up something you have never done.

It’s my great pleasure to stand here to prent my

speech―Change the World, Change Ourlves.

It’s noticable that western holidays are becoming

increasingly popular day by day, while chine traditional

festivals are being somewhat neglected. Not long before

about 10 Doctors in Beijing university and Qinghua unversity

announced that we should reject the invasion of western

holidays ,becau they regard western holidays as an

challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.

Frankly speaking, I don’t quite agree with ,

we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal

festivals as China boasts a brilliant history and splendid

traditions. (examples).But why can’t we absorb the

meaningful western holidays and culture.

There are obvious reasons why some western holidays

are so popular in China. On the one hand, some of the western

holidays which we Chine don’t have are reasonable and

meaningful, such as Father’s Day and April Fool’s Day etc. On

the other hand,the prevalence of globalization enables

western culture to prevail in China. Overwhelmed by such a

trend,Chine unconsiciously get involved in western holidays

and culture.

With the further development of the whole world, the

cultural communication between different countries and

nations becomes faster and more and more important. We are

indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of the

same world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is

the commom wealth of everyone on the only way

for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign

culture? The answer is definitely no. What we ought to do is to

spare no effort to educate Chine to get to know and

treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign

culture. Only by educating can we t our confidence and

belief towards our culture. Only by educating can we prerve

and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

At last I’d like to share a famou saying of Gandhi with

all of you ,that is:If you want to change the world, then you

must change yourlf first.”

establish an aim ,for you can encourage yourlf

aim ,which is easy to give up .And at last ,when you catch your

aim ,you will taste happy tears .failure is the mother of

success ,but struggle is just success .Challenge

yourlf ,andyou will not regret this life .

With the fast development of the world, we will face

more and more challenges. Challenge means not only

hardship, but also opportunity. Since we are young people and

have glorious future before us, we should not be afraid of

challenge. Challenge can inspire our creative power and lead

us to success. The most important thing is to deal with

challenge properly.

First, we must get ready for challenge at any time,

becau it comes all of a sudden. Second, you should be

courageous enough to face up to it. No pains, no gains. Only

through hard work can we achieve success. Finally, make sure

As for me, I have my own ways to deal with challenge, Im

always trying to challenge mylf and conquer mylf. Only by

means of this can I achieve my ambitious goal.
