The Duanwu Festival, which is also called the Dragon Boat

Festival, is an ancient Chine traditional festival, celebrated on

the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. For thousands of years,

various celebrating activities are held all around the country.

Eating zongzi and racing dragon boats are the most pertinent

ones, which are said to be in memory of Qu Yuan, a great poet.

In some places, people spread realgar wine on the children in the

hope of protecting them from the evil spirits. Many people

consider May as an especially dangerous time for dias in a

year, and therefore they hang moxa and calamus and things like

that around the doors to ward off evil and dias and pray for

good luck.

端午节，又称龙舟节，是中国古老的传统节日，在农历的五月初

The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly

government official named Chu Yuan. He was a good and

respected man，but becau of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he

eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor's court.

Unable to regain the respect of the emperor，in his sorrow

Chu Yuan threw himlf into the Mi Low river. Becau of their

admiration for Chu Yuan， the local people living adjacent to the

Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to arch for him while

throwing rice into the waters to appea the river dragons.

Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan，their efforts

are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.

这个节日的由来是古代中国有一位博学多闻的官吏屈原，他是一

位爱民而且又受到尊崇的.官吏，但是由於一位充满嫉妒的官吏陷害，

从此在朝廷中被皇帝所冷落，关于端午节的英语作文。由於无法获得

皇帝的重视，屈原在忧郁的情况下投汨罗江自尽。

由於对屈原的爱戴，汨罗江畔的居民匆忙的划船在江内寻找屈原，
